Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., influenced much of the change toward equal rights for Americans. He fought hard for the rights of African Americans to be considered and respected in the society of this county we call America. Dr. King was a minister and pastor who was called to do more than preach in the churches where he served. He was dedicated to lead people in peaceful protests to call attention to the injustices that held the nation back because of their ignorance of people who had so much to contribute. Dr. King was a recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize due to his leadership as well as many other prizes and recognitions for his part in the Civil Rights Movement. The movement propelled victories that influenced the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965.
There is so much more to say about this Drum Major of Justice and you are encouraged to learn and/or refresh your memory about him and the history ignited by those who fought for our freedom. Thanks for visiting!
